Binance Starts Moving Crypto Out Of Funding Accounts Ahead Of Stocks Rename

TL;DR

  • Binance has begun migrating non-stock crypto assets from Funding Accounts into Spot Accounts.
  • The migration starts September 29 and is expected to continue in stages through January 2027.
  • Funding Accounts will eventually be renamed Stocks Accounts and used primarily for stock and stock-option settlement.

Binance has started reorganizing how user balances are stored as it separates ordinary crypto activity from its growing stock-trading infrastructure.

Beginning September 29, non-stock crypto assets held in Funding Accounts are being migrated into Spot Accounts.

The process will happen gradually rather than all at once.

Funding Accounts Are Becoming Stocks Accounts

The biggest change comes at the end of the migration.

Binance plans to rename Funding Accounts as Stocks Accounts in January 2027.

Those accounts will then be dedicated primarily to settlement for stocks and stock options, together with a limited set of supported settlement assets.

Binance lists USD, USDC, USDT, USD1, U and BNB among those settlement assets.

Bitcoin, Ether and other ordinary crypto holdings currently sitting in Funding Accounts will instead be moved into Spot Accounts.

Binance says the migration does not change the total value of user assets.

It is an internal account-architecture change rather than a forced sale or liquidation.

The exchange is also redirecting several services.

Assets received through Binance Card and gift-card activity will move into Spot Accounts, while Binance Pay and Convert functions are being adjusted to use the new account structure.

Tokenized Stocks Are Getting Their Own Space

The most interesting part of the change is why Binance needs a dedicated account in the first place.

The exchange has been expanding tokenized stock and stock-option products.

Separating those instruments from normal crypto balances creates cleaner settlement and accounting infrastructure.

That starts to make Binance look less like a single crypto wallet with multiple tabs and more like a financial platform containing distinct account types for different asset classes.

Users may notice operational changes during the migration.

Some recurring payment or Convert settings that rely specifically on Funding Accounts may need to be updated as those functions move elsewhere.

Historical transaction labels will remain in place.

The migration is expected to continue through January, so not every user balance will necessarily move at the same time.

Binance announced the plan last week.

September 29 is when the operational transition begins.

The destination tells the bigger story.

Crypto is being consolidated into the Spot Account.

The old Funding Account is being cleared out to make room for stocks.

Coinbase Adds Wormhole To Spot Trading As Solana Infrastructure Tokens Gain Visibility

Coinbase listings still matter, even in a market that likes to pretend every token is already globally accessible. The exchange ’s decision to add Wormhole puts another major infrastructure name in front of a much broader pool of traders. That matters because Wormhole is not just another speculative ticker. It sits inside one of crypto’s most important, and most debated, categories: cross-chain connectivity. For more details, visit the official Coinbase platform. TL;DR Coinbase is adding support for Wormhole’s W token on spot markets. The listing gives a higher-profile venue to a token tied to cross-chain infrastructure. It also keeps Solana ecosystem names in front of mainstream exchange users. Why A Wormhole Listing Is Interesting Bridge and messaging infrastructure often do not get the same retail attention as consumer-facing protocols, but they matter enormously to how liquidity and applications move between ecosystems. Coinbase’s listing helps push t...

Bitcoin Remains Range-Bound As Volatility Declines – Analyst Explains Price Action

Bitcoin has experienced frustrating price action in recent weeks, leaving investors impatient about its short-term direction. The price has been testing crucial supply levels between $98K and $100K, struggling to break out as uncertainty dominates the market. The lack of a clear move has led to speculation about whether BTC is preparing for a breakout or another correction. Adding to the uncertainty, the market was hit by negative news on Friday when crypto exchange Bybit was hacked, resulting in the theft of $1.4 billion in ETH. The incident caused fear and volatility, briefly dragging prices lower. However, Bybit responded quickly to reassure investors, easing some of the initial panic and stabilizing the market. Despite this, Bitcoin continues to consolidate in a tight range. Crypto expert Daan shared an analysis on X, noting that BTC is still ranging while volatility is steadily decreasing. As price compression increases, traders are on high alert for a potential explosive move....
